Our Mission
“After 25 years of coaching college football, I heard the same message from young athletes again and again: “I have to make it.” For many, that meant becoming a professional athlete—but the reality is, most won’t.” That doesn’t mean they can’t succeed. The WES Foundation is built on a different belief: Work Equals Success. Hard work, discipline, and education create real opportunities, especially when a strong community stands behind you.
Founded by Conway native Everette Sands, a Collegiate Hall of Fame athlete and current college coach, The WES Foundation was created on the belief that sports can open doors, but education, character, and a strong community are what help young people walk through them. What began as a football camp has grown into a nonprofit dedicated to providing free sports programming, college preparation, health screenings, financial literacy training, and community outreach — because we believe success is shaped just as much off the field as it is on it.
As we mark 10 years of impact, we do so with grateful hearts and a renewed commitment to the young people and families we serve. Because of the generosity and belief of our supporters, this work has grown far beyond what we first imagined — and we are excited to see what the future holds for The WES Foundation.
Our Programs

🌟Fundamental Sports Camps
Football, Cheerleading, Volleyball, and Basketball camps are held throughout the summer.

🎓Life Skills Training
Participants learn skills such as budgeting, meal planning and cooking, maintaining a safe home, using transportation, managing time, mental wellness, and communicating effectively.
03.
⛳ Annual Golf Tournament
Join us June 26, 2026 at True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island. All proceeds support free youth programming.
