The Working Equals Success Scholarship

The Working Equals Success Committee announces the 2025 Working Equals Success Scholarship Awards Program.  Under the Program, one (1) $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior that attended a WES Foundation football camp and two (2) $1, 500 scholarships to seniors in Horry County.

 

Available Scholarships:

Working Equals Success Scholarship Camper Scholarship: One (1) $3,000 scholarship is available for any senior that attended a WES Foundation Football Camp.

Working Equals Success Scholarship Natasha Stevens Scholarship: One (1) $1,500 scholarship is available for any senior attending high school in Horry County. This scholarship will be based on merit.

Working Equals Success Scholarship Thomas Jordan Scholarship:  One (1) $1,500 scholarship is available for any senior attending high school in Horry County. This scholarship will be based on need and merit and is open to any student attending a 2 or 4-year institution or some type of trade school program.

 

Guidelines for Application

 

  1. Applicants must complete a Working Equals Success Scholarship Application form; write a one- page biographical sketch on “My Ideal Career!”. Secure two letters of recommendation from (1) counselor, or other school administrator; (2) a teacher, or community leader. Lastly, an official high school transcript. Submit these items along with the application to the Working Equals Success Scholarship Committee at the address stated on the application form.

 

  1. Application materials must be postmarked by May 31.

 

  1. All applicants will be notified immediately after the judge’s decision is final.

 

  1. If selected to receive a scholarship by the Working Equals Success Scholarship Committee, the scholarship applicant will be required to verify their enrollment in an institution of higher education on/before September 15 before the scholarship award check can be issued. Failure to meet enrollment requirements may result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

 

  1. A check will be issued to the winner only upon notification from an accredited school certifying that the winner is registered for the fall term.

 

Eligibility

 

  1. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.

 

  1. Applicant must have maintained a “C” average or better in high school.

 

  1. Applicant must plan to enter an accredited institution of higher learning in the fall term following the granting of the scholarship. Must submit proof of acceptance.

 

  1. Applicant must be a United States citizen.

 

Criteria for Judging:

Need for Assistance 40%

Scholastic Achievement 30%

Initiative 15%

Quality and completeness of application materials 10%

Extracurricular activities 5%
